Wouldn't it be amazing to just take a year, go hideout in a quiet little house in the middle of nowhere and catch up on some "me" time? Finally check off some books on that reading list, start drawing again and just breathe. I get all swoon-y just thinking about it.
Lately, I've been itching for a chance to sneak away for a bit and at this point in life, I can't go into hiding for a whole year. However, I can do a week so that's what I'm doing. The first week in March, I've decided to shut down. No email. No phone. Nothing. I am going to read, take pictures, sketch, think, drink wine and sleep. One full week of Niki-heaven and I can't wait!
I was looking for a place not too far of a drive in case of bad weather, under $100/night, because heaven doesn't pay for itself, that has a kitchen so I can be an introvert and not starve... something that I could just be "me" in. Clicking through the amazing airbnb site I quickly noticed I was letting the photos rule my decisions almost completely. This got me thinking about all of those adorable moss-covered cottages I've pinned and how much they have in common. Today's post features some of my favorite hideaways from around the world. Enjoy!
